Public Health Controversy: Diagnosing ADHD

The Public Health Controversy I will be discussing is the diagnosis of ADHD. There are many ways children and people are diagnosed with it, but my position or stance is that it should be regulated to fit all people so all people should get the same diagnosis by using the same test protocols. Within this controversy including misuse of the drugs or health side effects after diagnosis. People involved in this controversy include parents, children, health professionals, and health policy makers. A counter argument to this controversy would be affordability and time of the patients to have these test administered.

  1. What are the "many ways children and people are diagnosed with" ADHD? Why are they not standardized or why is there more than one "way" in which people are diagnosed?

Will your essay propose a new diagnosis protocol or simply aim to show your readers that the current system needs to be standardized?

You haven't included any sources. But this project will require a good amount of research into current diagnostic procedures.
